Here a very interestign lens from 1850s (before waterhouse slot patent).

Pierre Maugey was a well known early lens maker in Paris and produced well-made lenses.

This petzval, dedicated to 4x5 or 5x7 cameras is in great condition. Glasses are clean, focusing smooth and comes with original brass cap and flange.

On groundglass shows a very sharp picture in the center with typical petzval effect.
